"Our family loves Westview Orchard because there is good clean fun for everyone. We have 8 children and have been going to Westview for years. No one seems to outgrow it. Our absolute favorite event is the Corn Maze in the fall. We group in teams and have a contest to see which team can be the first get their card punched completely punched (finding each of the sites identified on the card) and back out of the maze! Then we stop for some great home made food, and then stop for warm donuts and peach apple cider to take home with us. Of course we also do the slide, petting farm, pyramid and even the kids playground.

The multi-generation farm has painstakingly for decades taken so much time and energy to make it the icon in that it is in this tri-city. I love Westview Orchards also because its one of the few places we have left that we as a family can visit and we are promised by the Roy family that it will be a wholesome and good experience. I personally love the Black Hole, visiting the Donkeys, Bunnies, holding a baby chick, watching the frisky goats and eating as many donuts as I can get away with. Watching my kids play, eat, run and laugh while I relax and take in the beautiful relaxed atmosphere it just doesn't make a summer or fall day any better in my mind. I personally hope that this farm is still with us when my great-grandkids bring their kids here to enjoy everything we've enjoyed for so many years. I believe that will happen because at Westview it just keeps getting better and better each year but never by compromising the integrity of the historical value.

Having lived in a town with a Historical Society (Romeo) I can appreciate all the history that is preserved and nurtured at Westview Orchards. I am amazed how much there is to know to run a business such as Westview Orchards, they are truly scientists among other things in their craft.

When in season you'll never find a better Apple or Cherry. Personally I'm a die hard fan of their Pumpkin Spice Rolls. My family can testify to the fact that I don't share this with anybody and they'll have to get their own! There is a reason I can't get down the street sometimes, there is so many people there with one thing on their minds, Peaches! So much so that we have a Peach festival in our town. "It is a tradition each Fall for several years now that we spend a day with our grandkids at your Orchard. It is a great opportunity to expose them to farm animals, and to play on the wooden farm toys. They enjoy climbing the giant haystack, and think the giant slide is awesome. Climbing on, and running in and out of the large and small tires affords a good balancing act. Equally as much fun is the tractor pulled wagon ride out to the corn maze. It's a great walk together through the tall corn paths, and finding the stations to punch out their cards is exciting.

Sharing cider and fresh donuts is a season must!! We also enjoy the fresh apples.

"Westview Orchards was discovered my accident last year when I was looking for a certain kind of apple. Much to my surprise was the friendliness of the staff and their determination to service the customer. My second surprise was the wonderful bakery and those delicious flips. Further exploration revealed a third Gem...a small quaint little shop by the road side full of treasures...from apples, canned goods, fresh baked goods and many other items to satisfy ones plate!!! Most of all I have to compliment the management and staff to ensure those that are physically challenged the opportunity to have excellent parking, safe sidewalks and access to various sites and activities.

This year I have found that Westview Orchards has continued their dedication to provide great service to the customer, expanded their selection of foods, fresh fruit, and activities. "Last year was the first time that we visited your farm. We read about Westview Orchards in a local book that listed things to do with kids in Metro Detroit. Even though you guys are an hour and a half drive away from us our interest was peaked.

We never imagined how huge you guys really were! There were so many things to do! All of our expextations were met plus many more! But, hands down, our favorite part of your farm is the U-Pick area.

We came last October and picked Yellow and Red Delicious, Fuji, and Jonagold apples. The entire experience was grand! We believe children will not only eat better if they see where their food comes from and how it is grown but also instill in them family traditions and a desire to perserve our land so future generations can enjoy produce that is grown locally.

It was important to us to be able to take our then 4 1/2 year old out into the orchards and actually pick the fruit ourselves. She loved it! We loved it! Your apples are the best tasting apples that we have ever had! That is no lie! We picked so many that we could hardly carry them back to our truck!

We came back again this year with our 5 1/2 year old daughter and grandmother and great aunt. They were equally impressed with Westview Orchards. Once again, we picked so many apples we could hardly carry them!

This has become a new family tradition for us! We not only plan to visit just for the apples but also plan to come and try picking some of the other fruits that you offer. They have to taste just as good!Our whole family tells everyone about your farm, including our soon to be 6 year old. She says you guys have the best apples in the whole world!

"We took a trip out to Westview Orchards as something fun to do when a good friend of the family came home after being away in basic training all summer. The five of us, all over the age of 18, had a blast at one of your Fall Family Fun Weekends. We all enjoyed the straw mountain and the petting farm before jumping onto the tractor for a ride out to the corn maze. I think we all had the most fun in the corn maze as we split up into two groups randomly running into each other, trying to avoid each other so the other group wouldn’t know where the other found check-points and racing to see who makes it out first. Basically, we turned it into a big adventurous competition. After we got back to the farm we enjoyed the slide and going through the black hole and indoor maze. Before we left for the day, we indulged in some of the best fresh donuts and cider. It was a great trip and a great bonding experience where we could all be outside and enjoy the fresh air! "What I like best is that your farm provides a setting for good family fun. We usually go as a large group with 10 adults and 11 kids. Even though the kids range in age from 1 to 20, there is something for all to do and none get bored. In fact, it is always hard to get the kids to get in the car to head home. "What do I like best about Westview? Where to begin. What comes to mind first are the donuts!!! I've tried MANY cider mill donuts, but Westview's donuts are BY FAR the best!!! They are bigger than the others and by far the best tasting! I love the ones that are flavored – like apple-flavored, peach-flavored, etc. I'm very careful to watch my sweet intake, but when I'm visiting Westview, I throw caution to the wind and gobble up the donuts! I cannot help it.

I also love their fresh produce. They have the best tasting apples right off the tree and their cherries cannot be beat. Our family makes a pilgrimage to pick apples and cherries every year.

Finally – my son thinks the Star Wars attraction is the best. He goes on it over and over and over again.

"Well, I should tell you that your Cider Mill is the only place I take my children every year. We don't waste our time at any other Cider Mills. There are a few things we like about the place. We all enjoy the corn maze. This is always fun for us because we get our entire family together and break off into groups. Then we race to see who can complete it first. We also like the petting farm. It is nice for the kids to be able to hold the baby chicks, and get inside the pen with the goats. My kids like petting and feeding the animals. My kids also love the haystack mountain. It is fun for them to jump around like monkeys in the hay. They also enjoy the big slide, and the play ground area as well. My daughter loves the Black Hole. I think we all love the Fresh Cider and doughnuts! My favorite is the spiced hot cider. I had to buy some mulling spices this year. I also love all the fresh baked goods! They all look and taste so yummy! The four berry pie is one of my favorites! So overall, I guess we love just about everything about the place."

"My goodness, the list is so long. I live in Georgia and have the good fortune of visiting my sister in Shelby TWP several times a year. We ALWAYS visit Westview for whatever is ready at the farm. Our favorite has to be cherries in the summertime and the cherry donuts!!!! It's such an experience for my urbanized 7 year old to ride into the orchard, pick fresh fruit, climb a ladder, be outdoors and bring home the results of his labor, create something amazing in the kitchen, and taste the essence of slow food at its best.

The staff at the farm are like family. They open their hearts and helping hands each and every time we are with them. The absolute best Halloween haunted house for a 5 year old in the black barn. It's cool but not creepy. It's exciting. And wandering in a corn maze with corn 8' high in search of treasures can consume hours when you're 4... or 40!! The feeling of autumn air and bright sunshine heals the soul more than any medicine on any shelf in any drug store.

Oh, and going to a pumpkin patch on a tractor ride to choose your favorite pumpkin for a jack-o-lantern creates memories cherished for a lifetime. Ask my 22 year old!! And apple cider!!! And apple picking... learning the difference in the tartness of a macintosh and courtland will be useful for the rest of their lives as they bake the best pies on earth!!!

Then there's the fun of climbing a hay tower and watching the animals...

"My children and I have been visiting Westview Orchards for the past 3 years in a row. I must say the fresh donuts are especially the reason for us returning year after year....the donuts are the best when they are still warm!!! YUMMY!!! I grew up in Romeo and always love to have any reason to visit... Westview has given me a very good excuse to "come home" year after year. Of the past few years we have visited, this fall seemed to be much more organized especially at the entrance. I liked the additional "food" court in the middle of the grounds - lines were not too long!!! The staff has always been very nice and friendly!! Overall, Westview Orchards is a great fall activity which we have made as one of our family traditions. Fall would not be complete without a visit to Westview!!!! "The birthday party we had at Westview was great! Thank you for all you did to make the day so special for Gracie! She (and the rest of us) had a wonderful time. In fact, she must have said at least 10 times how much fun she was having and last night she asked me if she could have another "Birthday" party there soon.

No time to jump on the pillows and she didn't ride the slide (being 4 she was still a little scared) but the other kids did and loved it. Gracie absolutely loved the animals, the train ride and the playground.

"Despite growing up about a mile from this orchard, I had never been there before today. Wow what a great choice for a beautiful Sunday afternoon! I was really hoping to pick apples while we were home for a visit and I really, really wanted cider mill doughnuts which are hands down the best doughnuts on earth. We got there and there was a line out the door of the little shop - good sign. We opted for the small bag of "u-pick" apples which included the petting farm, really cool playground, and a ride on the wagon out to the orchard to pick apples. They said that Halloween is usually the end of their season but with the weather so nice this weekend they opened up for one more weekend. Out in the orchard they had a whole bunch of varieties to pick from, Gala, Braeburn, Fuji, Red Delicious, and a few others we didn't see the signs for. There were a lot of apples on the ground but still plenty on the trees. After cramming our bag full of apples we did a little shopping - doughnuts of course included. They tasted like heaven dipped in cider. Also a jar of honey from the orchard hives. Fun for the whole family!"

"This is the best orchard in the area. Unlike Franklin's Cider Mill, they have multiple flavors of donuts and all types of pies. This is also a great place to bring kids or groups for apple picking. Fun for everyone. I wish this place was open all year.

A Romeo-Washington Chamber of Commerce member and friend, Debbie, sent out a request for donated items to ship to our military men and women serving oversees.
