Westview Orchards & Cider Mill of Romeo Oatmeal-Apple Crisp

Ingredients:

  • ½ C. Whole-wheat Flour
  • ¾ C. Quick-cooking Oats
  • ¾ C. Packed Dark Brown Sugar, divided
  • ¾ t. Ground Cinnamon, divided
  • ½ C. Chilled Butter, cut into small pieces
  • 6 C. Chopped, peeled, firm, tart Apple (about 2 ½ pounds
  • or ¼ peck
  • ½ C. Raisins
  • Cooking spray
  • 3 C. Vanilla fat-free Frozen Yogurt

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Lightly spoon flour into a dry measuring cup, level with a knife.  Combine flour, oats, ½ C. sugar, and ½ t. cinnamon in a medium bowl; cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal.

Combine ¼ C. sugar, ¼ t. cinnamon, apples, and raisins in a 13 inch x 9 inch baking dish coated with cooking spray. Sprinkle with oat mixture. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes or until apples are tender. Top each serving with about 1/3 C. frozen yogurt.

Yield:  10 servings.
